HUAWEI In-App Purchases (hereinafter referred to as "HUAWEI IAP") comprises services that help you to complete purchases in apps. It is provided by Huawei Software Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Huawei", "we", "us", or "our"), which is registered at No. 101, Software Avenue, Yuhuatai District, Nanjing, Jiangsu. Huawei takes your personal information and privacy seriously, and is committed to taking appropriate security measures to protect your personal information in accordance with relevant laws and established industry security standards.

1. How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

We will provide you with the services described below through HUAWEI IAP. To ensure that you can use such services of HUAWEI IAP, we will process information required for providing them as described below when you use them. See the following for details about the personal information collected for each feature.

Purchases via HUAWEI IAP

When you make a purchase using HUAWEI IAP, we will collect and use your HUAWEI ID information, transaction records, subscription records, device identifier (ODID), device type, system settings (language and country/region), payment credential generated during the purchase, basic app information related to your payment behavior, and app settings, so that you can complete the payment smoothly.

We will secondarily launch the HUAWEI Wallet app, which will check whether your device supports QuickPass and return the result to us. We will then display the supported payment methods on your checkout screen.

Quick payments

You can add a bank card through HUAWEI IAP to make quick payments in apps.

When you add a bank card, the bank card information (bank card account number, expiration date, and CVN2), mobile number registered with the bank, and ID card information (sensitive personal information) that you provide on the device will be encrypted and sent to the card issuer by China UnionPay Merchant Services Co., Ltd. in order to verify your identity and enable the quick payment service. If you use your camera to read your bank card information, the information read from the surface of the card will not be stored on your device or in Gallery. We will collect your transaction records and provide them to the card issuer or its authorized service providers for risk control purposes.

When you add a bank card, you can choose to grant the Camera permission so that you can use the camera to capture an image of the bank card to identify the card number.

To ensure payment security for you, we will store your ID card information in encrypted form to ensure that only bank cards under your own name can be added for payment. We will only store the first six digits and last four digits of the actual card number, the name of the issuing bank, and the mobile number to facilitate your choosing during future payments. Your bank cards will be linked with your HUAWEI ID to help you manage them on all your devices.

Payment password and verification method management

To ensure the security of your funds, you must verify each payment before it can be made. This requires you to set up your payment password and security questions and answers. Your payment password will be stored with Huawei in encrypted form. If you have forgotten your payment password, you can reset it through your linked phone number or the email address registered under your HUAWEI ID. You can also complete payments using your enrolled fingerprint information or facial information, which will only be stored in the secure area of your device. If you have enabled Huawei Pay, we will collect your payment password, fingerprint ID, face ID, and device identifier (ODID) and store them with Petalpay (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. in encrypted form to ensure payment security. (In cases of payment based on a payment password or fingerprint or facial recognition, the information will be processed also in this manner.)

Payments via WeChat Pay

When you make a purchase and choose to pay using WeChat Pay through HUAWEI IAP, we will invoke the WeChat Open SDK, and provide your transaction records to Tenpay Payment Technology Co., Ltd. or entrust the acquirer Petalpay (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. to provide the information to that party. You will be redirected to complete the payment using WeChat Pay. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant.

Payments via Alipay

When you make a purchase and choose to pay using Alipay through HUAWEI IAP, we will invoke the Alipay Client SDK for Apps. Your transaction records will be provided via Huawei to Alipay (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd., and you will be redirected to complete the payment using Alipay. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant.

Payments via Huawei Pay

When you make a purchase and choose to pay using the Huawei Pay feature of HUAWEI IAP (which requires Internet access), we will provide your transaction records, device identifier (ODID), device type, and bank card number to Petalpay (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. to ensure financial security and prevent fraud. We will obtain information about your user benefits (discount coupons) from Huawei Pay to serve you offers available for your purchases.

Payment via QuickPass

When you make a purchase and choose to pay using QuickPass through HUAWEI IAP on your phone, we will entrust the acquirer Petalpay (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. to provide your transaction records to China UnionPay. You will be redirected to complete the payment using QuickPass. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant.

Payments via HUAWEI Points

When you purchase virtual products using HUAWEI Points through HUAWEI IAP, the Huawei payment password you have set needs to be verified before the payment can be completed.

HUAWEI Points top-up and collection

HUAWEI Points can and only can be used for purchasing virtual goods and value-added services provided by Huawei Mobile Services, and can be used for purchases in Huawei apps such as Cloud, AppGallery, HUAWEI Video, Music, Themes, GameCenter, and HUAWEI Books. HUAWEI Points cannot be used to purchase phones, tablets, watches, bands, routers, TV boxes, and other physical products. You can top up or collect HUAWEI Points by going to Settings > HUAWEI ID > Payment and purchases > HUAWEI Points, from which you also view your HUAWEI Points balance and usage records. We will send customer service messages to notify you about expiration of your HUAWEI Points balance.

You can obtain HUAWEI Points by entering a HUAWEI Points voucher password or by purchasing them directly. In addition, you can also participate in certain activities to earn HUAWEI Points. We shall store your HUAWEI Points usage records for your reference. Your HUAWEI Points will be linked with your HUAWEI ID.

When you add a HUAWEI Gift Card, you can choose to grant the Camera permission so that you can scan the digital password or QR code on the card to identify the card number.

Coupon collection and redemption

You may get coupons from promotional activities organized by Huawei or in apps of Huawei's third-party partners. Such coupons can only allow you to get discounts when you purchase virtual products and value-added services provided by Huawei Mobile Services.

When you claim coupons through promotion activities of Huawei or third-party apps that cooperate with Huawei, we will record your benefit information. We will record the usage information when you redeem the coupon for the discount it offers and complete the payment. You can go to Settings > HUAWEI ID > Payment and purchases > Coupons to view your collected, used, and expired coupons. Your coupons will be linked with your HUAWEI ID.

Invoices

HUAWEI IAP allows you to obtain the invoice forty-eight (48) hours after making the purchase.

When you request an invoice on the details screen of a purchase, we will collect different information depending on the category of invoice title you select. If you select the personal invoice category, we will collect and use your name and contact information. If you select the enterprise invoice category, we will collect and use your enterprise information (your enterprise's name and taxpayer identification number), as well as your email address. You can check the invoicing status by touching VIEW INVOICE on the purchase details screen. Please ensure that the information you submit for your invoice request is correct. Once the invoice is ready, we will send it to you through the email address you have provided.

Auto-renewals/Password-free payments

If you enable auto-renewals/password-free payments using Huawei Pay, we will invoke the PaymentService SDK. Your transaction records will be provided to Petalpay (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. In the end, HUAWEI IAP will return the transaction result to the merchant. If you enable auto-renewals/password-free payments using WeChat Pay, we will invoke the WeChat Open SDK. Your transaction records will be provided via Huawei to Tenpay Payment Technology Co., Ltd. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant. If you enable auto-renewals/password-free payments using Alipay, we will invoke the Alipay Client SDK for Apps. Your transaction records will be provided via Huawei to Alipay (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant. If you enable auto-renewals/password-free payments using your bank cards, your transaction records will be provided via Huawei to China UnionPay Merchant Services Co., Ltd. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant. You can also enable auto-renewals/password-free payments using Huawei Pay, and Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant.

Family payments

You can enable family payments in the HUAWEI ID section. When you enable this feature, we will collect your family member information to allow you to make family payments.

When you make a family payment request, we will collect your device identifier (ODID) and app settings, the family administrator will receive a notification about your transaction details, and the request will be granted in such way as set by the family administrator. If your family payments are linked with WeChat Pay, we will invoke the WeChat Open SDK. Your transaction records will be provided via Huawei to Tenpay Payment Technology Co., Ltd. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant. If your family payments are linked with Alipay's password-free payment, we will invoke the Alipay Client SDK for Apps. Your transaction records will be provided via Huawei to Alipay (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant.

VR password-free payments

If you enable the VR password-free payment service, you can choose to make payments without having to enter a password on a VR device. If your VR password-free payment is linked with WeChat Pay, we will invoke the WeChat Open SDK. Your transaction records will be provided via Huawei to Tenpay Payment Technology Co., Ltd. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant. If your VR password-free payment is linked with Alipay, we will invoke the Alipay Client SDK for Apps. Your transaction records will be provided via Huawei to Alipay (China) Network Technology Co., Ltd. In the end, Huawei will return the transaction result to the merchant.

All transaction records generated from your purchases made using the aforementioned payment methods will be encrypted and stored for your future reference.

Risk control

For the purpose of protecting the rights of Huawei, you, or other Huawei users, we will collect and use your account payment credential, bank card account number, mobile number registered with the bank card, contact information, device identifier (ODID), age, IP address, basic app information, operating system information, network information, carrier information, transaction records, and HUAWEI ID information to control risks, prevent fraud and other illegal activities, and reduce credit risks.

Feedback

The Feedback feature allows you to submit your questions and suggestions regarding your use of the services.

When you use the Feedback feature, we will collect your HUAWEI ID information, device identifier (ODID), feedback, contact information (email address or mobile number), app usage information, images, videos, and app logs. The purpose of collecting such information is to analyze the collected information, improve the app and services, and provide you with a better user experience. If you select Share app log to help us pinpoint the issue, your operation records will be included in the app logs, but will be used only for issue locating purposes.

Help

The Help feature provides you with solutions to common issues. When you use this feature, we may collect the following information to provide you with relevant answers based on the issue you have encountered: your device hardware information, device model, system settings, HUAWEI ID information, order information, issue description, records of communication with the customer service, images and videos, and other information you provide for substantiating relevant facts.

Product O&M

To settle charges with our partners, improve operational strategies of the product, ensure smooth operation of the product, and ensure transaction security and cyber security as required by laws and regulations, we will collect your HUAWEI ID information, transaction records, device identifier (ODID), app usage information, device hardware information, operating system settings, network information, carrier information, and records of views and clicks in HUAWEI IAP.

When you choose to make a fingerprint or facial recognition payment on a device of a third-party brand, we will share your HUAWEI ID information after encryption with the third party to apply for a payment service certificate, in order to ensure secure and reliable payments.

The aforementioned services and how you can access them may vary depending on the product type, device and its supported features, application scenario, and other conditions. We will not collect additional personal information for scenarios that are not involved.

2. Required Permissions

The following sensitive permissions are required during the running of the app. We will seek your consent before using them. Any permissions that are not explicitly granted will not be used.

Camera: The Camera permission is required to take photos so that you can add bank cards, redeem HUAWEI Gift Cards, scan bank cards to identify their numbers, or scan QR codes. If you do not need these services, you can revoke this permission at any time. Your use of other HUAWEI IAP services will not be affected.

Permissions required may vary depending on your device type. For example, the Camera permission is not required on your Vision or in-car infotainment system.

You can manage your permissions at any time by going to system Settings > Apps & services (or Apps) > Apps (or App management) > HMS Core > Permissions on your Huawei phone, tablet, or watch.

The services provided may vary between different devices, and may change based on updates of features available on your device.

3. Protection of Minors

We attach great importance to the protection of minors' personal information. Huawei will provide services and protection for minors in strict accordance with national laws and regulations. If you are a minor, your parents or legal guardians must agree to your use of HUAWEI IAP, and agree to the applicable terms and conditions. Parents or legal guardians should also take appropriate precautions to protect minors, including monitoring their use of HUAWEI IAP.

In particular, if you are a child (a minor under the age of 14), please make sure to notify your parents or legal guardians about carefully reading with you this Statement and the specifically formulated by us before you use our services, and use our services or provide information to us with the consent and guidance of your parents or legal guardians. If you are a parent or legal guardian, please ensure that the child under your guardianship uses our services and provides us with information with your consent or guidance.

In the interest of protecting children, child users are only permitted to use a child account. Parents or legal guardians must ensure that their child is using a child account. After you create a child account for your child (below the age of 14), you can view and approve their requests for purchases (including in-app purchases and downloads). In the event that any child account linked with your account requests to link a bank card or make a payment, we will send you an authorization request. Only after you grant the authorization will the child account be able to link the bank card or make the payment as intended. If you are a family administrator, you can add the account of your child to your family group, and keep the default Ask to buy settings so you can be prompted each time your child makes a payment request, protecting against inadvertent payment requests by your child. You can also set up a threshold for Ask to buy alerts to secure payments above your specified amount. If you choose not to be asked when your child makes a purchase request, your child will be able to use the payment method shared by you directly.

As required by applicable laws and regulations in China, we will set a payment limit for child accounts that have passed real-name authentication in order to protect minors.

4. Sharing with a Third Party

Some of our payment services are provided by third-party providers. To provide you with the services and help the third parties improve their services and products, we need to provide the third parties with relevant personal information required for completing the payment services. The third-party payment service providers also provide privacy protection measures and encrypt your data during data storage. To prevent data leakage, your data will not be shared without your consent. In order to protect the security and privacy of your data, we have signed data security protection agreements with our partners, which clarify our partners' responsibilities, obligations, and requirements when it comes to protecting your data. Order and transaction data we collect during the process will not be used to identify individual users, and will only be used for business operation analysis purposes.

5. Third-Party SDKs

To provide you with certain services, such as third-party payment services (Alipay and WeChat Pay), we require joint efforts with the partners. Therefore, we have integrated software development kits (hereinafter referred to as "SDKs") or other similar programs of our partners. For details, please refer to the .

6. Managing Your Personal Information

Huawei highly respects your concerns regarding personal information, and you are provided with the following data subject rights and options.

6.1 Access your information

You can access your personal information that we have collected and stored in HUAWEI IAP in relation to your HUAWEI ID and obtain a copy of such information by going to Settings > HUAWEI ID > Privacy center > Obtain your data copy on your Huawei phone or tablet, or logging in to using your HUAWEI ID on your computer and then clicking Obtain your data copy.

6.2 Delete your information

You can delete your linked bank cards and purchase records in HUAWEI IAP at any time by going to Settings > HUAWEI ID > Payment and purchases on your Huawei phone or tablet.

If you have any further requests, questions, comments, or suggestions regarding your rights as a data subject, please contact us using the contact information provided under the "Contacting Us" section of this Statement.

How you can access or delete your information above may vary depending on the product type, device and its supported features, application scenario, and other conditions.

You can also delete your HUAWEI ID by going to HUAWEI ID from system Settings on this device or on your phone, after which your account and linked information will be permanently deleted.

7. Information Storage Location and Retention Period

The personal information we collect and generate under the Services will be stored in Beijing Municipality and Langfang City of Hebei Province, the People's Republic of China.

We will transfer your personal information outside the borders only with your consent or on other lawful bases for processing.

To enable you to make payments with Alipay, we will provide your device model and transaction records to Alipay Singapore E-commerce Private Limited when you make such payments. Such information will be processed on servers deployed in Singapore by Alipay Singapore E-commerce Private Limited. To enable you to make quick payments with your bank card, we will provide your name, basic app information, account payment credential, bank card number, HUAWEI ID information, email address, CVN2, IP address, and transaction records to Worldpay (UK) Limited, Worldpay Limited, and Worldpay AP Ltd. when you agree to link the card. Such information will be processed on servers deployed in the UK by Worldpay (UK) Limited, Worldpay Limited, and Worldpay AP Ltd.

We will take necessary technical and administrative measures in accordance with laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements to ensure that the recipients outside the borders have sufficient data security capabilities to protect your personal information. We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Statement, and delete or anonymize your personal information beyond the time set out below, except as otherwise required by applicable laws and regulations.

Your device identifier (ODID), HUAWEI ID information, app settings, HUAWEI Points information, and security questions and answers for resetting your password will be automatically deleted after you delete your HUAWEI ID.

Information about bank cards you add in HUAWEI IAP will be retained after you actively delete the cards or delete your HUAWEI ID.

SMS verification codes you have entered for verifying the transaction will not be retained. SMS verification codes you have entered for resetting your password will be retained for seven (7) days and then deleted.

Your HUAWEI Gift Card information will be deleted in thirty-six (36) months after its expiry date. Your HUAWEI Gift Card password will be stored for verifying the HUAWEI Gift Card information. Information about your HUAWEI Points balance will be automatically deleted after you delete your HUAWEI ID.

Information about a coupon of yours will be deleted in six (6) months after its validity period expires, or will be automatically deleted after you delete your account.

Information about your auto-renewal/password-free payment agreements will be deleted after you cancel the agreements.

Your transaction records, invoice information (email address), network information, device type, carrier information, and operating system settings will be retained for seven (7) years and then deleted, unless otherwise required by applicable laws and regulations.

Your benefit information, including subscription information, will be retained for up to 180 days from the date when the benefits expire, or be automatically deleted after you delete your HUAWEI ID.

Information used for product O&M will be retained for up to five (5) years.

Personal information processed for preventing fraud and ensuring payment security will be deleted in six (6) months from the date the payment is made.

Information used for the Feedback feature will be retained for up to two (2) years.

Information used for the Help feature will be retained for up to two (2) years.

In the event that we discontinue our products or services, we will notify you in the form of a push notification, announcement, or by other means, and delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period of time.
