1 What Data Do We Collect About You?

As part of Huawei Health, we shall collect and use your personal data only for the following purposes stated in this Statement. Personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

We will collect and process the following data:

Personal profile information: such as HUAWEI ID account information (account identifier, profile picture, username, gender, and date of birth), height, weight, and app settings. Your gender and date of birth are used for providing you with better exercise suggestions. Your height and weight are used to increase the accuracy of fitness data calculations.

Fitness data: such as your device location, workout track, workout type (including walking, running, cycling, climbing, basketball, swimming, skiing, and golf), workout duration, step count, distance covered, calories burnt, altitude, maximum oxygen uptakeexercise heart rate, exercise form, speed, approximate location information, distance and ascent, workout achievements, cadence, calories, workout status (running power index, training load, and recovery time), running form data, fitness courses and plans, text you actively upload, personal preferences (training day and training cycle), wheelchair push count, wheelchair push frequency, average wheelchair push distance, and other workout analysis. Such data will be stored on the cloud and viewable on your device. After your outdoor workout ends, we will download road network data for the relevant area to your phone to improve the accuracy of the workout route displayed in the services. Such download will only occur if there is an update to the road network data or if it has not been downloaded previously. Please note that downloading the data over a non-Wi-Fi network will consume a small amount of data (1-2 MB), and the downloaded data will take up minimal storage space. (Such download is not yet supported by the iOS version.)

Health data: Your sleep data, heart rate variability (HRV)heart ratebreathing datastress datablood oxygenbody fatmenstrual cycle dataphysical condition data, altitude sickness data, body surface temperature, body composition data (including impedance, BMI, muscle mass, metabolism, water percentage, visceral fat level, and protein and bone mineral content), and text you actively upload (including self-reported discomforts/injuries, available exercise equipment, target body areas, meal type, food name, consumed amount, and calorie content). Such data will be stored on the cloud and viewable on your device. When you conduct a Stress test for the first time, a wellness questionnaire is used for calibrating your test results. The calibration is done using a calibration value derived from your answers. The calibration value is shared with your Huawei wearable and then erased from the Health app. Your answers to the questionnaire are never stored. If you use the Arterial Stiffness Detection service, your vascular data (such as pulse wave velocity, pulse wave form, pulse wave conduction velocity, PPG, measurement time as well as vascular elasticity result and grade) will be processed. If you use the ECG service, your ECG data (such as ECG measurement time, result, wave form, average heart rate, and symptoms) will be processed. If you use the Pulse Wave Arrhythmia Analysis service, your pulse wave rhythm data (such as measurement time, results, and pulse wave form) will be processed. If you use the Sleep Breathing Awareness service, the time when you fall asleep and wake up, heartbeat interval, and blood oxygen data will be processed to provide services. None of the services are medical device software and the data should be used for reference only and not for medical study, diagnosis, or treatment. After the emotional wellbeing risk notification feature is enabled, the short-term and long-term trends in your emotional state data will be used to evaluate your emotional wellbeing status. Emotions are subjective experiences often accompanied by physiological arousal and external expressions and are a psychological phenomenon closely related to the subject's tendencies such as wants and desires, reflecting whether these wants have been satisfied. Emotional changes can trigger a series of physiological responses through the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis interacting with the autonomic nervous system. For instance, changes in heart rhythm can occur. By analysing heart rhythm changes, it is possible to detect emotions. Based on your emotional state and related characteristics data over a period of time, we will notify you about whether there are potential emotional wellbeing risks, and may suggest that you complete a self-assessment questionnaire so that you can further evaluate your emotional wellbeing status. Answers and scores of such questionnaires will not be stored. To receive emotional wellbeing risk notifications, you need to go to Me > Privacy management to allow syncing your health data to the cloud. (The aforementioned services are supported only in certain countries/regions.)

Device and network information: such as your MAC address, device serial number, IMEI, or other device identifiers (depending on your mobile system), device type, device and personal settings, and iOS device identifier (IDFV). Such information is collected for device management, including for establishing Bluetooth connections, managing device configurations, firmware updates, and displaying the source device of the data. Your IP address, network type, and network connection will also be collected in order to improve your network connection experience. When you use the Music function to listen to music on your wearable device, Huawei Health will obtain your membership and music information (such as song name, artist, and album) from the HUAWEI Music app. If you share a device with other users, such as a weight scale, we will collect the device identifier, account identifiers, and nicknames of users who use the device. If you want to set up a customised watch face on your wearable device, we will process (but will not store) your watch face information, as well as your account identifier and device information, so that you can use the feature. For more information, please refer to the Statement About Themes Watch Face and Privacy. For some wearable devices, you can download and install apps via AppGallery. During your use of such capabilities, we need to collect your account information, device information, network information, app information, transaction information, and list of installed apps. You can go to Devices > AppGallery > Settings > Disable AppGallery service to stop AppGallery's collection and use of your personal information.

Device and app usage data: such as the data about how you open or close the app, view pages, touch buttons, enable or disable features in apps, and the device running status.

Location data: precise location information

If you use Health in a visitor mode without logging in to your HUAWEI ID account, we will collect and process the following data:

Device information: such as device identifier (depending on your mobile system), operating system version and build number, ROM version, serial number, screen size and resolution, country/region code, language setting, Health app identifier, and Health app version.

Network information: such as mobile country code (MCC) and mobile network code (MNC).

Fitness data: During your use of Huawei Health, we will collect your basic fitness information such as step count, calories burnt, exercise duration, and active hours, in order to display your fitness information in Huawei Health.

Service usage information: such as approved user agreement information and timestamps of usage activities.

To provide you with the service, Huawei Health needs to access the Internet and requires the following permissions: Phone, Location, Storage or Media and files (depending on your operating system version, this may appear as separate permissions such as Images and photos, Videos, and Audio files, or Images and videos, Music and audio, and Files), Microphone, Camera, Calendar, Physical activity, Nearby devices, Contacts, Messaging, Call logs, Local Networks (applicable only to the iOS version), and Health (applicable only to the iOS version). You can manage the permissions on your device by going to Permissions under Settings

In addition, we need to access the list of apps installed on your device to enable you to manage which of these apps may have their messages displayed on your wearable device. This app installation information is neither processed nor stored on our servers.

2 How Do We Use Your Data?

To provide you with Huawei Health functions on the basis of your consent or the fulfilment of contracts, this app must collect and process your data for customer relationship management, service provisioning (including providing health and fitness activities for users, awarding medals to users, and providing consultation and recommendation), support and communication (including customer feedback and complaint handling), maintenance, software and system updates, user identification, as well as diagnostic and repair purposes.

Your fitness and health data, which includes sensitive information about you, shall be uploaded to Huawei Health cloud only after you give your explicit consent in the app. You can go to Me > Privacy management in the app at any time to erase the data from the cloud and/or cease further collection and processing. We will not process your fitness and health data for any other purposes than storing it in the cloud and making it available for viewing from your mobile device. To help you analyse your data over time, we will calculate e.g. different trends from the data you have synced to cloud and visualise those trends in the app.

Health Service Kit is a health and fitness data platform that allows you to manage and share your data across different services. You can go to Me > Privacy management > Health Service Kit (or Me > Privacy management > Data synchronisation if you are using an iOS device) to enable the uploading of your personal information as well as fitness and health data to the Health Service Kit cloud. Your personal data may be shared with third parties with your consent. You may also authorise the Huawei Health app to receive data from these apps. If you enable the cloud data syncing for any third-party app, the data from that app will be automatically synced to the Huawei Health cloud. Please read the privacy policies of the respective third parties carefully which you can view during authorisation. You can view the third-party apps or services to which you have granted such authorisation by going to Settings > HUAWEI ID > Privacy centre > Control account access on your phone/tablet. Health Service Kit will not process your fitness and health data for any other purposes than making it available for Huawei Health and third-party health and fitness services and apps to store and access based on your prior authorisation.

If you are in a country/region that supports AI workout record interpretation services, use a wearable device with the services, and have enabled the services on the wearable device, we will simultaneously display the AI interpretation and analysis results generated from Workout records on the wearable device within the workout record details of the app to help you better understand your exercise performance. You can disable the services at any time by going to Workout records > About > App description > AI interpretation on your wearable device. After doing so, you will no longer be able to use the AI workout record interpretation services.

If you have enabled the "Analysis and improvement" feature, your workout route data will be anonymised and used for algorithm training and analysis to optimise our models and algorithms, thereby enhancing your fitness experience. This helps Huawei improve its products and services. We shall use your device information (such as device country code), app usage data (such as which screens you view and which buttons you touch in the app), and the operations data of your device and the Health app (for example when you start and stop a workout, enable and disable GPS, and begin and end a heart rate measurement) to improve our services and user experience, provided that you have given your consent for such data processing. You may at any time withdraw your consent from the app by going to Me > Privacy management > Analysis and improvement. We will also provide you with health and fitness activities, such as step counting, exercise, and sleep activities, which you can take part in to receive medals. To perform online activity services, we will use your profile picture, nickname, and related sports and health data. Your profile picture and nickname are used to display rankings in activities, and sports data and health data are used to calculate activity scores. When you participate in and complete the objectives of the activity, you can choose to participate in the lottery. You may need to enter your name, address, and phone number to complete the competition information or collect prizes. You can view your medals by going to Me > My medals

To provide you with the diet management services (including food library, food logging, and diet analysis), during your use of the aforementioned features, we will obtain the text you actively upload (including food name, meal type, and consumed food amount) and calories for the diet logging and diet analysis. If you do not provide the required data, we will not be able to analyse your nutrition intake.

To provide you with fitness and health news, products, and services, we will push notifications to you. This feature is enabled by default and does not analyse your personal data. If you do not want to receive push messages, go to Me > Settings > Notification management in the app and disable the corresponding notifications.

After successfully pairing with a Huawei wearable device, the Huawei Health app will receive app messages or notifications and send them to your paired wearable device, for you to obtain related information on your wearable device and handle it promptly. You can go to Device information > Device details > Notifications at any time to turn off the notification switches for the apps concerned to disable this feature.

We use your account information (age and gender), device information (such as the model of your mobile device and wearable device), and app usage data (such as screens viewed, buttons touched, features enabled/disabled in the app, and usage frequency) to provide personalised recommendations in the app (such as personalised activities, articles, offers, and promotions provided by us and our partners). We do this by creating and using segments, which are groups of people with similar estimated interests and characteristics, to choose which marketing content is shown to you. No data related to your health will be used. Such processing is based on your consent and intended to understand our users' preferences, thereby better providing personalised content to better meet the needs and expectations of our users.

When you use Smart Training Plan, we will obtain your gender, date of birth, age, height and weight, speed, workout heart rate, workout duration, workout route, approximate location information, distance and ascent, workout achievements, step cadence, workout type, calories, workout status (running ability index, training load, and recovery time), running form data, VO2Max, personal preferences, other fitness data, fitness courses and plans, heart rateheart rate variabilitysleep databreathing datastress datablood oxygenbody fat, and menstrual cycle data. Such data will be uploaded to the cloud to provide workout suggestions as well as post-workout interpretation and phase-specific workout interpretation guidance. If you want to revoke data authorisation for Smart Training Plan, go to Exercise > Plan, touch the Smart Training Plan card to access the Smart Training Plan details screen, touch in the upper right corner, and select Revoke data authorisation

Such data will be uploaded to the cloud and used to provide personalised training programs and dietary analysis based on the principle of calorie deficits for users managing their weight. If this information is inaccurate, the algorithm might not provide workout courses or tips accurate to you and that may increase your risk of injury. If you want to revoke data authorisation for Stay Fit Plan, you can go to Weight > Stay Fit Plan > > Revoke data authorisation to withdraw your consent.

If you use the Safety check feature as a protected person, we will obtain your precise location information, heart rate, and device status information. Such data will be uploaded to the cloud via your wearable device, in order to enable convenient and intuitive sharing among family members and friends. In your process of adding a safety contact, your HUAWEI ID information (including profile picture, nickname, and mobile number) will be used for display on the safety contact invitation screen. When your safety contact views your location, your HUAWEI ID information (including profile picture, nickname, and mobile number) will be used for display on the screen, and your device hardware information will be obtained to facilitate the sending of abnormal event alerts to the safety contact and help the safety contact view the precise location information of your device. If you do not provide the aforementioned information, the features related to Safety check will be unavailable. When your device's location is viewed, the precise location information of the device will be reported to the cloud via this app to generate your historical tracks on the map. If you need to revoke your authorisation for sharing data with a safety contact in Safety check, you can go to Me > Profile > Safety check, swipe left on the safety contact, and remove the contact to revoke your consent.

Once you choose to send an SMS message while using the Safety check feature on your wearable device, we will send the SMS message content to the designated contact to notify them.

In addition, we use your personal data for information security purposes and to detect or prevent various types of misuse of services and frauds in order to provide you with secure and reliable services.
