Please carefully read the updates to the Privacy Statement due to service development and optimization:

• Revised descriptions about the data storage period in the "Information Storage Location and Retention Period" section.

• We will display ads to you in such apps (hereinafter referred to as "media apps") provided by Huawei and/or its partners that have integrated the capabilities of the Services. To protect your privacy when providing you with personalized ads, we will use your information for segmenting users into groups, and there will be at least 5,000 users in your group.

• We will not use information about your health, payments, contacts, call logs, or emails for advertising purposes, and will not provide such information to any of our partners.

• You can access Privacy Center to view and manage your ad segment information, thereby tuning the ad personalization results. If you disable personalized ads in a media app, the app will not be able to use such information to provide you with personalized ads. You might not receive fewer ads, while the ads will be less relevant to you.

• To provide you with ad-related features and services, the Services will automatically start on your device and access the Internet to obtain the ad content to be displayed to you.

We will display ads to you in media apps that have integrated the capabilities of the Services and process related information, in connection with which we will take necessary administrative and technical measures to ensure the security of your personal information.

(1) Ad display services

For the purpose of providing you with the corresponding services and features, relevant information as described below may be used to display ads to you:

• Device and usage information

  We will collect the following information when preparing to display ads to you: device identifier (OAID), device information (device model, device hardware information, operating system, system settings, and device usage information), basic app information, app settings, sensor information (gyroscope, accelerometer, rotation vector sensor, magnetometer, and barometer information), network information, carrier information, IP address, and WLAN information (Wi-Fi status, Wi-Fi parameters, and Wi-Fi list).

  Information about your sensors (such as accelerometer and gyroscope) is collected to provide you with innovative interactive ads (such as those to open upon shakes).

• Ad interaction information

  Information about your interactions with ads placed through the Services, such as impressions and clicks. Interactions may come from any device where you have logged in to your HUAWEI ID. To protect your privacy, the aforementioned information will not expose your device or HUAWEI ID.

• Information about interactions with advertisers' services

  For purposes such as ad placement optimization, ad attribution, and effectiveness analysis, the advertisers may provide us with conversion records obtained during their interactions with the users. The collection and use of such information are subject to the privacy policies of the advertisers.

To ensure that you can use relevant features of the Services, we will process information required for providing the features as described below when you use the ad display services.

• Preventing fraud and other malicious activities

  To help identify and prevent fraud and other malicious activities in connection with ads, we will use your following information: device identifier (OAID), device information (device model, device hardware information, operating system, system settings, and device usage information), basic app information, app settings, app usage information, IP address, sensor information (gyroscope, accelerometer, rotation vector sensor, magnetometer, and barometer information), and ad interaction information.

• Product O&M

  To ensure the smooth operation of the Services, ensure cyber security in accordance with the law, fulfill statistics and settlement purposes, and improve operational strategies of the Services, we will use your following information: device information (device model, device hardware information, operating system, system settings, and device usage information), basic app information, app settings, app usage information, HUAWEI ID-related information (gender and age), network information, carrier information, IP address, and WLAN information (Wi-Fi status, Wi-Fi parameters, and Wi-Fi list).

(2) Location-based Ads

If you have enabled Location-based Ads during a preparation to display ads to you, your device's approximate location information may, with your consent, be used to provide you with ads relevant to your geographic location. We will not store the precise location information of your device. We will use the precise location information (when available), Bluetooth device list (when available), and WLAN information (Wi-Fi list) to help determine the approximate location of your device. In addition, the Services will not display location-based ads to you if Location Services is not enabled on your device or if the app you are using is not allowed to access your location information.

(3) Personalized ads

With your consent, we will display personalized ads to you and process related information. To provide you with personalized ads, we will use personal information you provide to Huawei and its partners to create advertising segments that group users with similar characteristics, and we will match ads that you may be interested in against what advertising segments you are assigned to. To protect your privacy, there will be at least 5,000 users in your segment. Your personal information described below may be used for creating advertising segments:

• Information about HUAWEI ID

  Your home address and age, as well as devices registered under your HUAWEI ID. Information such as your nickname displayed on the HUAWEI ID registration screen may be used to infer your gender, and the displayed age information may be used to infer whether you are a child.

• Download, installation, purchase, and subscription information

  Information about music, videos, and books you have downloaded, apps you have installed, as well as items you have purchased and content you have subscribed to in apps, such as the transaction records and subscription records.

• Search information

  Your search keywords and search records may be used to provide you with relevant ads, after being desensitized.

• In-app activity information

  A partner app of ours may provide us with information about your use of the app, which is subject to privacy policies of the app and applicable laws.

• Ad interaction information

  Information about your interactions with ads placed through the Services, such as impressions and clicks.

• Information related to Smart Recommendations

  To provide you with ad information of greater value to you and a better experience, we offer a better recommendation mechanism with proper protection for your privacy by using advanced privacy protection technologies and HUAWEI HiAI. For example, we may use the federated learning technique to process, in the background on this device, your on-device information, including device and app usage data, marketing content from merchants, and HUAWEI Assistant suggestions, thereby recommending products or services that you may be interested in. In particular, the analysis is only performed on your device. We will neither collect the analyzed content nor upload it to any server. You can disable Smart Recommendations on the HUAWEI Ads screen by going to Settings > Privacy > Ads and privacy or Settings > Privacy (how you can get there and what you can select may vary slightly with the system version).

We will not use information about your health, payments, contacts, call logs, or emails for advertising purposes, and will not provide such information to any of our partners.

In the ad placement process, we make your personal information available to our partners such as the advertisers and their agencies for the purposes of ad recommendation, attribution, and operational analysis, according to the principle of minimization. We will protect your personal information and prevent our partners from identifying you as an individual by signing pertinent agreements with our partners, requiring our partners to comply with applicable privacy and security laws, take appropriate physical, technical, organizational, and administrative protective measures, and use the data provided by Huawei in compliance with the agreements. To provide the ad effectiveness monitoring and attribution services, we have integrated software development kits (hereinafter referred to as "SDKs") or other similar programs of our partners. For details, please refer to the Third-Party SDK List.

We attach great importance to the protection of minors' personal information. Huawei will provide services and protection for minors in strict accordance with national laws and regulations. If you are a minor, your parents or legal guardians must agree to your use of this app, and agree to the applicable terms and conditions. Parents or legal guardians should also take appropriate precautions to protect minors, including monitoring their use of this app.

In particular, if you are a child (a minor under the age of 14), the Services will not push personalized ads to you.

We highly respect your concerns regarding personal information, and you are provided with the following data subject rights and options.

The Services will ensure your rights of choice and control concerning personalized ads in accordance with the law. You can disable personalized ads as instructed below (how you can get there and what you can select may vary slightly with the system version):

• Go to the Settings menu in the media app concerned and use its option for managing personalized ads (variations may apply, depending on the media app).

• Access the Privacy Center for Huawei devices and use its option for managing personalized ads. To do so, go to Settings > Privacy > Ads and privacy > HUAWEI Ads > View ad targeting information, or go to Settings > Privacy > HUAWEI Ads > View ad targeting information, or go to Settings > Privacy & security > Data & privacy > HUAWEI Ads > Ad preferences (the path may vary depending on your operating system version). Alternatively, visit the Privacy Center web portal and go to the ad personalization settings screen.

Please note that after personalized ads are disabled, the Services will not be able to use your information to provide you with personalized ads. In this case, you might not receive fewer ads, while the ads will be less relevant to you.

We will use the precise location information (when available), Bluetooth device list (when available), and WLAN information (Wi-Fi list) to help determine your device's approximate location (such as a university or commercial area). If you choose not to receive location-based ads (which are not yet available in HarmonyOS NEXT or later versions), you can go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Location > System services and turn off Location-based Ads or Ads (how you can get there and what you can select may vary slightly depending on the system version). You can alternatively disable location access for apps concerned or disable Location Services of the device. If such settings are not present on your device, the Services will not collect your location information and you will not receive location-based ads.

You can log in to Privacy Center and go to Ads preferences to view and manage your advertising segment information, thus managing your preferences for what ads you may see.

If you want to delete your personal information used to serve personalized ads to you, you can log in to Privacy Center and go to Ads preferences to change your advertising segment information. You can also request us to delete or anonymize your personal information by using the contact information provided in Section 7.

If you have any further requests, questions, comments, or suggestions regarding your rights as a data subject, please contact us using the contact information provided under the "Contacting Us" section of this Statement.

The Services are only available on devices sold in the People's Republic of China. The personal information collected and generated under the Services will be stored in the People's Republic of China and will not be transferred outside the borders.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with legal or regulatory requirements.

We review and determine the necessary retention period for personal information based on the following factors:

(1) Legal or explicit regulatory requirements.

(2) Maintaining corresponding transaction and business records to address your possible inquiries or complaints.

(3) Ensuring the security and quality of the services we provide to you.

(4) Whether you agree to a longer retention period.

The common data retention periods are as follows:

(1) Some data may be retained until you delete your account, disable the services, or actively delete the data. Examples of such data include basic personal information, content you actively upload or submit, virtual goods you purchase, and activity information related to your use of this app.

(2) Some data may be retained until the end of the retention period. Examples of such data include personal information related to personalized recommendations, personalized ads, marketing, feedback, help, complaints and reports, which typically will be retained for up to two (2) years. If product O&M are involved, the related personal information will usually be retained for up to five (5) years.

(3) Some data may be retained until the expiration date specified by laws, regulations, or other management provisions.

In the event that we discontinue our products or services, we will notify you in the form of a push notification, announcement, or by other means, and delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period of time.

If you are not satisfied with the response you receive, especially if you feel that our processing or handling of your personal information has violated or infringed on your legal rights and/or interests, you may seek external resolution, whether by filing a lawsuit with the people's court in the relevant jurisdiction, submitting a complaint to the industry self-regulation association or relevant government regulatory agencies, or by other means.
